Alicia Keys was honored with the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award at the 2025 Grammy Awards which was presented to her by Queen Latifah.
In her acceptance speech, Keys emphasized the importance of empowering women and embracing diverse voices. “This is for all the ladies that know the magic that they bring to the room,” she said. Keys also made a powerful statement about diversity, equity, and inclusion, which seemed to reference recent political discussions on the matter. “This is not the time to shut down a diversity of voices,” she said, adding, “DEI is not a threat, it’s a gift, and the more voices, the more powerful the sound.”
The award celebrates individuals who exemplify artistic excellence, groundbreaking entrepreneurship, and a commitment to philanthropy with an influence that transcends music.
With a career spanning more than two decades, Keys has not only redefined contemporary R&B but has also used her platform to highlight social justice and humanitarian causes worldwide.
