Lil Wayne’s Young Money Records has promoted Karen Civil to general manager and executive vice president, overseeing the label’s operations and reporting directly to CEO Mack Maine.

The announcement brings Karen full circle, as Wayne was her first client when she launched her marketing agency, Always Civil. One of her earlier projects with Wayne was WeezyThankxYou, a fan site where the rapper could write fans while he was incarcerated at Rikers Island.

Lil Wayne said, “It’s impossible to think of an area of the business of entertainment that Karen hasn’t touched or made an impact in. We look forward to the continued growth of the YM roster and talent.”
