Jay-Z Reportedly In Talks To Sell His Stake In D’Usse

According to TMZ, Jay-Z is looking to sell his stake in D’Usse, the alcohol brand he has been in partnership with Bacardi since 2012.

Docs obtained by the media outlet shows Jay’s SC Liquor company, exercised its right to a buyout about a year ago. Under their agreement, Bacardi now has to “negotiate in good faith” to come up with a fair price for Jay’s stake in D’Ussé.

SC Liquor says Bacardi’s subsidiary, Empire Investments Inc., is trying to “stall and stonewall” all efforts to get financial information on the valuation of D’Ussé, which explains why the rapper is looking to sue the company as previously reported.

The documents reference a potential estimate, but Jay’s lawyers redacted those numbers as “well below” fair value. One could assume that those numbers weren’t matching the deal that was given for stake in Ace of Spades the rapper had with LVMH.
