Common is starring in the new Apple TV+ sci-fi series called Silo. The show is based on author Hugh Howey’s best-selling Wool novels.
Apple describes the premise of the show as “the story of the last 10,000 people on earth, their mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built and any who try to find out face fatal consequences.”
The series is created by Emmy-nominated screenwriter Graham Yost, who has previously worked on HBO’s Band of Brothers and FX’s Justified.
Common stars as a character named Sims, and appears alongside other accredited actors such as Rebbeca Ferguson (Dune), Harriet Walter (Succession), Chinaza Uche (Dickinson), Avi Nash (The Walking Dead), David Oyelowo (Selma), Rashida Jones (Parks and Recreation) and Tim Robbins (Mystic River).
“I’m so honored and excited to be a part of this great piece of art,” Common wrote alongside the trailer he shared on Instagram. “I’m equally excited for y’all to see it. ‘Silo’ is special. It’s got something!”
The series premieres on May 5. Check out the trailer below.
